Bad Dragon

Where do I even begin with Bad Dragon? Their issues are legion. Quality problems, inconsistent customer service quality, transphobic behavior, numerous occasions of possible intellectual property infringement, allegations of mistreatment of employees, harassment using threats of legal action, poor treatment of the customer base and general unprofessional behavior.

And this is to say the least. There’s still other horror stories that haven’t been made public by some out of fear of reprisals. Let that sink in for a minute: people are scared to come forward out of fear that this company will come after them in some way, shape or form.

If you need a toy from this company, do not buy directly from them even if it’s only to avoid the quality issue minefield. There are no retailers that sell Bad Dragon toys (Amazon.com doesn’t count because Bad Dragon is directly selling select models on there) so your best bet if you really want a certain model is to buy secondhand.

I have not personally had any experience with this company but witnessing monkeytoybox’s extremely poor experiences with this company and two other reviewers’ really poor experiences (found here and here) have guaranteed this company a place on the list.

Receiving the wrong item or no item at all and then (in the case of monkeytoybox) taking literally months to finally resolve an issue that shouldn’t have taken that long to resolve is inexcusable.

There’s also allegations that some of their designs that are really questionable when it comes to originality (i.e. copycats of other manufacturer’s models). These are just allegations at the moment, but I’ll update this when/if I get some hard proof of it.

For now if you really have an aching need to buy some of their models, SheVibe sells some of their items or you may be able to find some for sale secondhand.
